Berlin electronic dance project consisting of Dirk Leyers and DJ Nomad, AFRICANE 808 tackles rhythms from all corners of the globe with the TR-808, aka the groups third and only female member. Basar is the duos 3rd release on New Yorks Golf Channel (first LP), and from the bossa-nova-flavored opener Awakening to the gospel-drenched closer The Lord is a Woman, the album adheres strictly to AFRICANE 808s no rules, no bullshit, all styles manifesto. The 12-tracker also tangos with West African, Indian, Island-funk, and Latin flavors, and its important to note that almost all tracks are DJ/dancefloor friendly with pulsating bass, punchy kicks, and shuffling rhythmic layers.
