First Lessons in Piano Improv – A Basic Guide for Early Intermediate Pianists

Whether the goal is to be a classical or a jazz performer, improvisation is a deep, intense way to learn the rules of music. Good improvisers become native speakers of musical language and not just readers of notes. This book is especially geared to the classically-trained late elementary/early intermediate pianist (and their teacher) who wants to grasp the basics of improv. Siskind guides student and teacher through fun, easy exercises along with helpful tips and guidelines.
