Madcliff: Mad Cliff Vinyl LP

The only album ever recorded by Madcliff, this 1977 rarity finally gets the reissue treatment on Soul Brother Records out of the UK. Madcliff was a ‘tax scam’alter ego (acommon way funk & soul groups of the 70s would release new music ifthey were in debt to the IRS under the guise of their main project)ofVanguard funk/disco groupThe Players Association, masterminded by Chris Hills. The album is nicely varied with a broad range of soul, funk and disco. For DJs, the highlight is dance-floor ready You Can Make The Change, popularized by Northern SoulselectorKeb Darge at his Legendary Deep Funk party at Madame Jojos in London. Just Another Woman and It Takes a Little More are more acoustic soul ballads. OGs are not cheap so get with this.
