Phil Hinter: In the Air – 12-INCH SINGLE

The Phil Hinter Ensemble (Philogresz and Simon Hinter) present a fantastic three-track package showcasing the perfect combination of Hinter’s smart grooves and sample-based fills with Philogresz’s wombastic bass and shivering synth lines. The Owl is a squelchy, synthetic house track with lively drums and chords and magical trumpets, perfectly arranged and expertly musical. In the Air gets even more playful with glossy synth stabs, rumbling bass, and diva vocals all bouncing along in a charismatic style full of color. On Struggle, scurrying little percussive sounds, a burst of vocals, down low sine waves, and icy snares make for truly seductive minimal techno.
